This Alki project renewed an aging wood retaining wall with a combination of manufactured block and custom Corten steel. The new walls bring together the familiar character of a traditional retaining wall with the warm, weathered look of Corten steel, creating a balance of old charm and modern industrial style.
New soil amendments and layered planting help stabilize and soften the slope around the walls, bringing greenery into the hardscape and creating a more cohesive hillside landscape.
